Unveiling City of Voices: A New Mystery Adventure in Suburban England

Presenting a thrilling new enhancement to the realm of mystery gaming, a fresh title developed by some familiar faces in the industry is making its debut.

The visionary minds behind The Rise of the Golden Idol have unveiled a new detective game known as City of Voices. Created by Will Ackerman and Matt Frith from Kini Games, this latest project transports players to suburban England during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Like its predecessors, City of Voices immerses players in static scenarios where they must unravel the mysteries at hand, identifying the individuals involved, the events that transpired, and the underlying motives. However, rather than focusing on criminal investigations, the game dives into themes of friendship, bullying, and other interpersonal dynamics.

The narrative kicks off with a young girl's challenging entry into secondary school, soon evolving into an extraordinary and thrilling quest. Commenting on the unique gameplay experience, Will Ackerman expressed his admiration for the versatility of the mechanics from the Golden Idol series, stating that they can be tailored to investigate a diverse array of stories through deductive reasoning. He noted the initial trepidation he felt when reaching out to the co-creators for permission to use their mechanics, only to find that they were honored by the request!
