Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition Rated for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

The community is buzzing with anticipation as the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has granted an official rating for the Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares, signaling a revamped version for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This follows a previous rating by the South African Film and Publication Board, which was reported in January 2023, paving the way for speculation about the title's release.

Although the official confirmation from Tarsier Studios or publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment regarding the specifics of Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition is still awaited, the ESRB rating sheds light on what players can expect. Designated as an adventure platformer, the game will continue the haunting journey of Six, a young girl, as she traverses through a world filled with terrors.

With a Teen rating from the ESRB, the game is noted for presenting scenes with adversaries that can cause fatal harm to the protagonist, Six. The inclusion of sinister details, such as environmental details referencing blood and a scene involving a hanging figure, is in line with the original game's eerie and unsettling ambiance. Additionally, there's a particular moment where a character can be electrocuted, maintaining the signature disturbing style and the intricate puzzles that the original Little Nightmares was renowned for.

First released in 2017, Little Nightmares found its way to platforms including PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC, as well as mobile versions for iOS and Android. Although no previous mentions of a remaster have been made, the ratings submitted by the developers and publishers suggest a high likelihood of its existence.

With no formal declaration yet regarding the Enhanced Edition, the ESRB's involvement suggests that fans can expect an announcement for the next-gen consoles and PC release not too far in the future. If past remasters set any precedent, we can look forward to improved visuals, enhanced performance, and perhaps even some new hidden extras that will bring the world of Little Nightmares to life like never before.
