Capcom Elevates Monster Hunter Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto to Chief Product Officer Amid Franchise Success

Capcom continues to make significant strides in the gaming industry with the latest installment of its popular series. Having achieved remarkable success with Monster Hunter Wilds, the franchise is set to grow even further. This new chapter not only sought to attract new players with its streamlined mechanics but also aimed to satisfy the long-time fans. The game’s impressive sales numbers—over one million copies sold within just the first six hours and 1,300,000 simultaneous players on Steam during its launch weekend—demonstrate its strong appeal. As a result of this success, a prominent figure within the team has received an important promotion.

Ryozo Tsujimoto, who served as the producer for Monster Hunter Wilds and earlier entries in the franchise, has been appointed as Capcom’s Chief Product Officer. In his new role, Tsujimoto will oversee the entire game development division, meaning all Capcom franchises will now report directly to him. His transition into this leadership position will take place on 1 April, coinciding with the departure of his predecessor, Yoichi Egawa, who is set to take on the position of president at the subsidiary Enterrise CO. Furthermore, other high-level changes at Capcom are planned and will be subject to approval during the upcoming board meeting in June 2025.
