Swen Vincke, director of the critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate 3, has confirmed that Larian Studios has already started work on a new game. In a discussion with the Dungeons & Dragons YouTube channel, Vincke confirmed that despite just completing the six-year development of Baldur's Gate 3, work on another project was already underway. He noted the pressure of finishing a game and the need to move onto the next project, with his personal role in the Baldur's Gate 3 project now essentially complete. Baldur's Gate 3 currently holds the highest Metacritic rating for a game this year, exceeding even The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Despite the success, Vincke revealed the team had feared a lower score or technical issues on launch.
