Minecraft: Here Come the Camels!

One of the reasons Minecraft remains so popular through decades is constant updates which are made with active participation of the players. Some of these mobs are chosen by players, but this is not the case with the most recent mob added alongside the elected one. And this is a camel, the mob with unique characteristics.

Camels are the main attraction of the recent patch 22W42A, though not the only one. These desert animals will be ridable; all it takes is a saddle you can equip them with. One camel can carry two riders, which is realistic, walk slowly, or run fast. What’s even more realistic is that camels randomly stop moving and sit down, and when a camel is sitting, it’s very hard to set it back in motion.

Camels will spawn randomly in villages in the Desert biome. Though they are rather tall, there is no problem to ride it. A camel can just step over a fence. On the other hand, the hungriest and the angriest predators can reach your character even while riding a camel, but these are rare, most are just powerless against a camel rider.

Other new features of the patch include ten different bamboo blocks, from planks to fences and pressure plates. A unique one is Bamboo Mosaic plank, which is (as you may have guessed) made of Bamboo and colored in mosaic. You will also be able to craft a raft and a chest raft of bamboo.

If you lacked bookshelves in Minecraft, this patch brings them too. The shelves will store up to 6 books, so the stories and the lore of your world will be accessible from within it. There will also be hanging signs that will provide you with even more opportunities to decorate your buildings. But camels are, of course, the kings of this update.

Have you already seen these camels in Minecraft? How did you like them? What mob would you like to be the next in the game? Share your feelings and ideas with us in the comments!
