Louisiana has become the first US state to require residents to have a digital government ID in order to access adult sites like Pornhub. This unprecedented move is aimed at protecting children from viewing inappropriate content online. It comes just months after the state passed a law banning people under the age of 21 from accessing these websites.

The new requirement applies to all sites with an adult-only rating, including Pornhub. Under the law, all users must enter their digital government ID before they can view any of the content on these sites. This is to ensure only adults are accessing the material. The ID must be verified by the state's Department of Children and Family Services.

A warning must be displayed on all adult sites stating that the content is not appropriate for minors, as required by law. Additionally, the sites must have a “report abuse” button that allows users to report any suspicious behavior they may encounter while on the site. This is intended to further protect children from coming across inappropriate content online.

Louisiana is not the only US state that has taken steps to protect children online. Other states, such as Alabama, have also implemented similar laws. In Alabama, all websites that contain adult-only content must have a “report abuse” button and must display a warning stating that the content is not suitable for minors.

Louisiana's digital government ID requirement is a groundbreaking step taken to protect minors from inappropriate content online. It is likely that other states will follow suit in the near future as more and more parents become concerned about their children's safety on the internet.
