The video game industry is living through uncertain times, with the annual gaming convention E3 2023 taking the biggest hit. With the announcement of two more companies dropping out of the show, Sega and Level Infinite, in addition to the previous announcements from the major publishers Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, it is beginning to look like E3 2023 might be canceled.

Andy Robinson, a journalist with Video Games Chronicle, recently tweeted that he’s been hearing “not good news” about the fate of the event and would not be surprised if it did end up being canceled. This has left many people worried and upset; as Hollie Bennett from Frontier Developments pointed out, “That's a pity because this is easily the lowest show floor prices have ever been like it's WILD how much they've dropped. They have some good plans too; this year really feels like a great shot at E3 coming back too”.

Currently, the show is set to go ahead as planned, with June 11-16 being the proposed dates. However, there is a lot of competition this year, with various companies running their own events, including the PlayStation Showcase and Xbox Live Fest. With the upcoming show being so uncertain, the question remains whether E3 will be able to answer the challenge or if it is better just to cancel it altogether.

Robinson remains optimistic about the show but cautions that, with all the hype surrounding E3 2023, it is still being determined what the final outcome of the event will be. Whether or not it will be able to go ahead remains to be seen, with no official statement from the organizers yet.

In conclusion, E3 2023 is a highly uncertain event, and the video game industry is certainly taking a hit. There is still hope that the event will go ahead, but the competition from other companies is strong, and the actual outcome of the show still needs to be seen.
