Motion Blur, a Turkey-based independent gaming studio, has unveiled their newest game, Black Slate - a next-gen stealth action-adventure game. The launch trailer, shared by IGN, reveals that the game expertly combines Portal's portal mechanics and third-person stealth gameplay from Metal Gear Solid 5, although it seems the portal mechanics will bring about much more robust action in this game.
Players of Black Slate will step into the role of a retired military hero on a mission to save a kidnapped scientist and uncover the truth behind a disastrous event. The mission, as presented by the mysterious Architects, is steeped in secrecy and may hold deeper meaning than it initially appears.
When IGN quizzed them about the resemblance of their game to Metal Gear, the game developers explained their admiration for the Metal Gear Solid series. During the 2.5 years they spent developing the 500-page game design document, they held high regard for games like The Last of Us, Metal Gear Solid, Uncharted, and others that highlight the immense potential of game development and unique gameplay mechanics.
Influenced by these games, the small development team is devoted to providing top-notch development quality and remarkable gameplay mechanics despite their limited size. They aim to blend captivating storytelling with enticing gameplay mechanics, promising an immersive and memorable gaming experience. Their objective is to push boundaries and provide players with an unparalleled gaming experience.
Black Slate is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on PC. The release date is yet to be announced.
