Exploring Cosmo Canyon Caches
As you venture into the beautiful yet treacherous landscape of Cosmo Canyon, keep an eye out for the hidden treasure caches that can enhance your adventure significantly. Below, we’ll take you through the specific locations of these caches, as well as tips and tricks to uncover each chest’s valuable contents.
Salt Miner's Shack
The Salt Miner's Shack holds two hidden chests eager to be discovered. Begin your search by locating the raised hut situated directly behind the phone booth intended for summoning Cid. The first chest is subtly placed behind this hut, so be sure to check thoroughly.
To uncover the second treasure, navigate to the steps located behind the hut. Once at the bottom, turn left to find another hut characterized by a dark brown door. To claim the second chest, ascend the platforms beside this hut until you reach the roof, where your prize awaits.
Galeswept Valley
Reaching the Galeswept Valley Cache requires a bit of maneuvering, but the rewards make it well worth the effort. The best way to access this spot is to hop onto your Chocobo and glide from the ramp located near Kamaria's Chocobo Ranch. Aim for Gliding Range No.2, marked clearly on your map.
Upon arrival, look to your left to discover wooden panels. Nestled against one of these panels lies the first chest. To find the second chest, utilize the launch ramp from Gliding Range No.2 to glide across to the opposite area. After landing, head left and glide again to the next ramp, where the next chest can be found tucked against the canyon wall.
The Celestia
The Celestia Cache presents a more adventurous pursuit, but it's rewarding in both scenic views and treasures. Begin your journey at Gliding Range No.5, which is conveniently located near the main Cosmo settlement bridge. Glide southwest toward Kamaria's Chocobo Ranch, keeping an eye on the ground for the remains of a large wooden ship—your destination.
Once you land, the first treasure is accessible inside the ship's body against the wall. To claim the second chest, explore the ship until you find climbing holds leading to the top. At the summit, the chest will be directly ahead of you. Finally, for the third chest, look for it next to a few Shinra boxes against the canyon wall in the direction of Kamaria's Chocobo Ranch.
Ancient Baths
With two chests waiting at the Ancient Baths, securing these treasures will take you back to Gliding Range No.5. Glide south-southwest to find the ruins behind the Remnawave Tower. An entrance to a cave-like area is your first target. Inside, pass under the staircase arch and turn left; the first chest will greet you right as you enter.
The second treasure at Ancient Baths is located atop the stairs in a ledge facing north-northeast. Make sure you check that spot thoroughly as it's often overlooked.
Font Shrine
The Font Shrine Cache can also be challenging to access due to its location. Board the Gliding Range No.21 and glide across the air using an airborne fan to land on the opposite area. From there, use the Ruins Elevator located at the back-left side, then ascend the stairs to a new open area.
Continue following the upward staircase until you reach the Shrine. Once there, glance to your left and pass through a stone archway; you'll enter the Font Shrine Cache area. The first chest is positioned on a ledge opposite the stairs, while the second is concealed by Shiara boxes, so don’t forget to investigate the right side after following the path around the stone remnants.
Oldewyrm Clearing
The Oldewyrm Clearing Cache beckons with three hidden chests. We recommend initially discovering the location before utilizing Fast Travel to make your hunt easier. The first chest will be found on wooden slats against the northeastern canyon wall, easily spottable if you Fast Travel to the area.
Directly to the north-northwest, you will find another chest near a climbing wall situated opposite a tent. Ascend using the climbing holds, and upon reaching the top, check to your right for your next prize. For the third chest, mount your Chocobo and head towards Gliding Range No.7. Glide off the ramp towards a marked point on your map, entering through an opening at the top of a large mound to discover your treasure.
Capital Ruins
The final location on our list, the Capital Ruins, contains two chests, though accessing them can be tricky. If you've already discovered Ancient Capital Remnawave Tower, Fast Travel will make your journey significantly easier. For those just starting, head to Gliding Range No.6, where you can jump off and glide to the wooden landing pad straight ahead.
After landing, navigate right to the launch area for Gliding Range No.7, and repeat the gliding process to reach the next landing pad. Continuing this pattern and utilizing fans to sustain your air time, make your way to Gliding Range No.14. Upon arriving in this area, look for a small wooden staircase leading into a rock formation. Ascend these steps to explore the inner rock structure where the first chest can be found against the wall, atop the stairs.
Finally, turn around from the first chest, and you'll notice the second chest across from you on the opposite side of the small platform. And there you have it—every location for the Cosmo Canyon Caches in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth!
While exploring this stunning region, be sure to also check for any additional side quests and collectibles, ensuring that your encounter in Cosmo Canyon is as fulfilling and adventurous as possible. Happy treasure hunting!
